There's something magical about the aroma of a sizzling breakfast, especially when it involves the rich and savory combination of kielbasa and potatoes. Today, I'm excited to share my culinary adventure as I crafted a mouthwatering Kielbasa and Potatoes Breakfast from scratch, adding a twist with the optional yet highly recommended red bell pepper. Join me on this flavorful journey that's perfect for serving to your loved ones on any morning.

The Ingredients:

To start this breakfast extravaganza, gather the following ingredients:

  • 1 pack of kielbasa sausage, diced
  • 4-5 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced and chopped (optional but highly recommended)
  • Salt and pepper to taste (optional)
  • Butter for cooking
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional, if desired)

  1. Prepping the Ingredients: Begin by peeling, and dicing the potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Slice the kielbasa into strips and then dice. Also, thinly slice and chop the red bell pepper if you've opted for this flavorful addition.

  2. Sautéing the Goodness: Heat a generous amount of butter in a large skillet over low-medium heat.

  3. Adding the Potatoes and the Kielbasa

  4. Incorporate the diced potatoes into the skillet, then gently add the sliced and diced kielbasa to the skillet, also add the red bell pepper (optional ingredient). Stir all ingredients in the skillet, then cooked covered in a low-medium heat for around 10 minutes or until they develop a golden-brown crust. Flipped the ingredients in the skillet, and then cook the other side, covered, until both potatoes and kielbasa reached desired tenderness, and allowing it to brown and infuse the potatoes with its smoky flavor. This step is crucial for creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes.

  5. Incorporating the Red Bell Pepper (Optional but Highly Recommended): Elevate the dish by adding the thinly sliced and chopped red bell pepper. This not only enhances the visual appeal but also contributes a sweet and slightly tangy flavor that perfectly complements the richness of the kielbasa and potatoes.

  6. Seasoning to Perfection (Optional): Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, adjusting the seasoning according to your preferences. Allow the ingredients to mingle and marry their flavors, creating a symphony of taste that will tantalize your taste buds.

  7. Finishing Touch: Once the potatoes are tender, and the kielbasa has developed a beautiful caramelized crust, your Kielbasa and Potatoes Breakfast is ready to be served. if desired, garnish with fresh parsley for a burst of color and added freshness.
